DeKalb Libertarians to Host the 20th Annual Income
Tax Protest in Decatur
Demonstration to be held at the Decatur Post Office on W. Ponce
De Leon
April 15, 2002 (Decatur) - The Libertarian Party of DeKalb County
Georgia is once again sponsoring the annual Income Tax Day Protest
and Outreach event. If there was ever a day entirely devoted towards
feeling frustrated, violated, and aggravated, then tax day is
it. But the Libertarian Party of DeKalb is turning this normally
negative experience into an opportunity to spread the message
of liberty, by reminding our fellow citizens that the United States
did not always have an income tax and to let them know that we
would be better off without an income tax.
"The big government Republicans and Democrats have together
created an income tax system that only an IRS agent could love,"
said Tom Freese, Chairman of the Libertarian Party of DeKalb,
"and only the Libertarian Party is working to eliminate
this tax and limit government accordingly".
What: The 20th Annual LP DeKalb Tax Day
Protest & Outreach Event
Where: City of Decatur Post Office, 520 W. Ponce De Leon
Ave., Decatur, GA
When: Monday, April 15, 2002, 9am-6pm
Why: Demonstrate disapproval of the income tax.
***The press and freedom loving public are encouraged to attend
***
"An income tax is incompatible with a free society. It
is the tool of tyrants, despots, social engineers, and the leviathan
welfare/warfare state," said Mr. Freese. "It
is simply legalized theft."
