LP
Dekalb to Cook for Freedom at Stone Mountain Park Event
Stone Mountain, GA (August 13, 2001) - What do liberty and
chili have in common? They both taste great and they both require
effort, patience, and talent to get just right! So it is with
great party spirit that the LP of Dekalb has decided to participate
in the 22nd Annual Great Miller Lite Chili Cook Off to be held
on Saturday, the 6th of October at Stone Mountain Park. Because
this event draws hundreds of participants and thousands of chili
tasters, it should prove to be a gold mine opportunity for our
Operation Politically Homeless Booth, which will be cleverly disguised
as a chili cook off vendor booth.
But unfortunately, in order to participate in the chili cook
off, the rules say that we have to actually make chili! No problem,
though. We intend to enter our own specially formulated "Liberty
Chili" as prepared by our soon to be famous Master Liberty
Chili Chef! Small problem. We don't yet know who the Master
Liberty Chili Chef is! Could it be you? Do you have that special
super secret, handed down for generations, just like grand ma
used to make, chili recipe that could garner you fame and favor,
and at the same time help promote the cause of liberty? Well if
you think your bean and beef bonanza is the best thing this side
of the Mississippi, and you would like the chance to prove it,
you're going to have to put your chili where OUR mouth is.
That's right, the LP of Dekalb will be holding it's own mini
chili cook off in order to see just whose beans are the baddest
in the land. The master chef competition will be held at the
September 26th monthly meeting where "we the people"
will get to decide by popular vote just who the Libertarian Party's
Master Liberty Chili Chef for 2001 will be. All the details
concerning the selection process and also our participation in
the Stone Mountain event will be discussed at the August 22nd
monthly meeting. We will be needing volunteers, cooking equipment
and utensils, tables, and other miscellaneous stuff for the actual
Stone Mountain event, so think about helping out in some way if
you would like to. This event should not only prove to be a tremendous
outreach opportunity for us, but it will also allow us to show
the people of Georgia that we Libertarians are fun loving regular
folk who care about Liberty, Responsibility, Community, and chili!
Stay tuned....
